I've spent the past week touring Hunan province on a very busy media tour so am a week late uploading this, but here is the second story I have written for China Daily, on a New Zealand practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine . . .
I am a world traveler and writer, and come by both through my lineage. On my mother's side, I am New Zealand Maori, of Rongomaiwahine and Ngati Kahungungu descent, and Maori are both great sailors and great story-tellers. On my father's side, I am bog Irish crossed with rom, and my sire was a Navy deep-sea diver who drank and shagged his way around the world, spawning children as he went. He could charm what he wanted from anyone and my story-telling and itchy feet are a legacy from him also.
